Hi everyone,

I know this has been asked before and there have been solutions but I
am really stuck as to what to do. I'm not that familiar with linux
except messing around in shell at university so I don't really
understand the solutions.

I understand we are supposed to "add" tslib or something to the build
but I really have no idea how to do this or what config files I'm
meant to be editing/writing.

I've read these threads but don't really know where to start with
tslib etc:

http://groups.google.com/group/android-x86/browse_thread/thread/91458aaeca5812e7/75fe5737fdc02fe6?lnk=gst&q=usbtouchscreen#75fe5737fdc02fe6

http://groups.google.com/group/android-x86/browse_thread/thread/2047620c58d7d8d3/5d2a23f8e017b55d?lnk=gst&q=touchscreen+701#5d2a23f8e017b55d

I'm really sorry if this kind of question isn't useful to the whole
group and seems a bit selfish but I really want to help the
advancement of android-x86, it's just that I want to actually get it
working first.

Thanks for your time (sorry if I've wasted it),

I too would like an explanation for this, so far I've heard that in
donut-x86 the egalax screen is detected but touch input is reversed on
the axis

how would one go about fixing this?

I'm too interested on that. I sent an e-mail about two weeks because I was not able to compile
the kernel (I would like to try adding the official driver for the eGalax to Android-x86's kernel to
see if it works).

As of today I have been totally ignored. I hope you get better luck with this question and we can
all make the touch screen work.

Could there not be potential software fix for this? For instance, if
someone wanted to play a trick on someone and Install an app on their
Android-powered device which would run instantly, and unbeknownst to
the user, which would invert the inputs made from the touch screen?

While this would be a terrible trick to play on someone, It would/
could work quite effectively in the mean while a proper driver is
constructed?

No. I just need to spend some time with tslib and get it working.
I think Chih got at least the pointercal stuff working in eclair.. (Chih?).
Everytime I want to sit down and work on this stuff, something pulls me away (work, wife, child... beer).
I should have something soon.

As far as I know, from the eclair-x86, calibration procedure will work
if there is no pointercal in the right place. Please, try to set
ts.env and ts.conf properly and boot. If there is no pointercal
calibration screen will popup with eclair-x86 (please refer to /
scripts/5-tslib script file). Following is the way that usually I try
to calibrate the TS.
1. set the ts.conf and ts.env as right values
2. boot with DEBUG=1 parameter in the GRUB
3. exit the first shell
4. ensure fb driver was loaded
5. export all the variables in the ts.env
6. export TSLIB_CALIBFILE=/pointercal
7. run ts_calibrate
8. touch each pointer, if the touch is longer and rub around the exact
point, the result was more accurate in my experience.

You can use tslib tool (ts_calibarate, ts_print ...) to calibrate.
And I think you have to make directory /data/system/tsblie to create /data/system/tslib/pointercal.

As my understanding, your device recognize touch input device, but you
can not calibrate touch point. Is it right ?
Please refer below page. This is written by korean, but you can refer
