Hello, I did a search and didn't find anything related to the subject.
I just did an install of android-x86-2.3-RC1-eeepc.iso
to an eee 701/4G surf. Everything was running fine. Lan worked,
screen, audio, etc.
I went to reboot the device and after my ASUS safe boot screen I get
"error loading operating system"

Rendering me not able to boot anywhere not even a command line.
Though I have not looked 100% through all documents. Just wondering if
there is
any sort of help for this type of error.

Best Regards,
Jeremy

Ok, I tried that and nothing. So I did a few other things today just
to test some things out.
They did not work. I did re-read the install instructions and saw this
"Note the type you chosen must match the partition id, or the boot
loader will fail to boot."
So I wonder if I am somehow skipping a step.
These are the steps I am choosing,
iso burned to CD, load the installer, format the partition ext3, once
that is done I install,
I get the usual screens which follow, grub etc, I choose how the
instructions say to choose.
Once all this is done I either select reboot or boot into android.
Reboot I get that error message,
boot into android and shutdown and reboot get the same message.

As I was in android I did click on <- left arrow and alt a couple
times. This brings me to a screen
which shows some grub. I get an error at this screen. What is shown
here,
grub> (hda1) (hda1,0)
error 21: selected disk does not exist
grub>
Not sure if this is what it says for everyone or just me? found that
interesting though...
I am going to keep working at it and figure it out one way or the
other.

Thanks for the advice about the battery pull.

Did you ever find a solution to this? Because I am stuck here as well.

If you got the error msg error loading operating system after you
installed the android on your eeepc, please be sure that your hdd/
memory card are formatted to LINUX system before you install, the step
for format your hdd to LINUX as below,

when you in the step choose partition,
1. select create/modify partitions
2. delete the original drive IF the type are not Linux
3. create a new "logical" drive, set bootable and selete "Write" not
"Quit"
4. all the data will be lose on the drive and enter yes if you confirm
5. you may quit now and set the format as ext3 then continue the
setup.

hope this help
