Installed Android x86 release 9 R2 onto a Dell Latitude 5300. This has a touch screen. So, it is recognized as a tablet. Everything works except for the touchpad (& no cursor is displayed which I assume is due to being in tablet mode).

Booting it as a laptop & not folded into a tablet results in Android x86 seeing the device as a tablet.

I did manage to fix the touch pad. However, auto screen rotation is not working. I have attempted to edit /etc/init.sh. But, no luck.....

What did you do exactly?

About the sensors, have you tried the 'no-trig' trick?
Search for forum for that.

Actually I didn't do too much..... I reinstalled Android x86_64 Release 9 R2 & when I powered it up for the first time, I folded it into a tablet & went trough the step in tablet mode. When I un-folded it into laptop mode, the touchpad magically started to work. It's been about a week, so I'd say it's stable.

I've been really busy & unable to try your no-trig trick idea.... But, will post an update on it soon.

Thanks & Best Regards
