hi,
i get this error and after a few searches it seems it is related to DNS 8.8.8.8 .
*ERROR: Get https://registry-1.docker.io/v2/: dial tcp: lookup registry-1.docker.io on [::1]:53: read udp [::1]:35711->[::1]:53: read: connection refused*
even I am using Eth cable not WIFI. could you help me how and where DNS is stored on android-x86?
I tried these commands but my problem still remains.
sudo setprop dns1 8.8.8.8   sudo setprop dns2 8.8.4.4 . getprop returns modified DNS correctly.

i jst found this file in etc/hosts. is this the file i should enter my DNS?
Any other idea about this error, should i configure something in kernel?
    Thanks

Haven't use hard connection before but if the Eth is mocked as Wifi then you should be able to go into the Wifi setting and switch to manual IP. In theory, you should be able to click on access point you're connected to, click the gear icon, scroll down a bit and switch from DHCP to manual IP. There you can also specify the DNS.

Check your router settings first. I always reserve a block of IP for static IP because I don't believe you can specify the same IP addresses controlled by the DHCP server (usually the router). In my case, I told my router to only provision 100 to 225 for DHCP so 1 to 99 are free for static.

Another point is i am using home internet service and do not have any static IP right now, i believe there must be another way for this problem,

No, we're only talking about a static IP address on your *internal* network -
you don't need a static *public* IP address on the external interface of your
    router.

So how are you connected to the Internet? Are you using a router / modem combo device that the ISP gave you? If so, did they also provide instructions on configuration? Or you got a router connected to the modem separately?

OK, the first device should be the modem connected to the wall via the telephone port or TV cable port. The second device should be the router, did you buy that yourself or did the ISP give that to you as well? Check the router to see if there's a sticker on it with the password and IP address on it. If it does then open up a web browser on your PC, enter the IP address as the URL. It should give you a log in page, this is where you enter the password. If this is all too confusing, then take a picture of the devices with the brand visible so we can try to look up instructions.

there is not any URL on back the router. I checked my default gateway is 192.168.1.1 (cmd ipconfig /all), I used to configure my own device with this address previously but this address re-route me to the ISP webpage basic settings. which just allows to change password and check active devices.

You could try adding one to etc/ but from what I read, that method may not work for Android 8+.

You can use dnscrypt-proxy & use iptables to redirect dns queries to dnsxrypt
