Hi Carlos,

I have a 4.4 iso with libhoudini, but the test app (Water by Disney) crashes.
It works with my 4.3 iso. The houdini libs are found in /system/lib and /system/lib/arm, but nothing works.
ll out/target/product/x86/system/lib/*dini*
-rwx------ 1 user users 2650888 mai    7 17:40 out/target/product/x86/system/lib/libdvm_houdini.so*
-rwx------ 1 user users 2433320 mai    7 17:40 out/target/product/x86/system/lib/libhoudini.so*

I should have a look at the logs to see what's going on.

If someone had a hint, I'd modify the iso accordingly.

Best regards,

Bruno Verachten

Do those releases actually have the libhoudini arm libraries built-in or are they just prepped for the libraries?

Based on some very basic and quick testing, it seems like they're just prepped for the libraries but don't actually contain them.  Unfortunately, all the instructions I've found are old and based on links to buildroid.org, so I'm not sure how to patch correctly.

If someone has a working ISO (with the ARM libraries) or good instructions with links, either would be greatly appreciated.

I have installed Android x86 4.4.2 on my intel core2duo desktop (Intel G31 MOBO).
I can play games like Angry birds, Bike extreme, marble legend, fruit ninja, arrow hiting games etc without any problem.

Is that your own build, or an iso from the website?
I built mine, and can't even play "Water by Disney".

Hey guys,

So did you guys get the arm translor to work on android 4.4? And can this be applied to genymotion?

Hi,

I have a working libhoudini on 4.4 for the few apps that seemed to need it (ProxyDroid for example).
On the other hand, I haven't tried it yet with games...

Hey Bruno,

Did you make that libhoudini yourself? And is there a version of libhoudini that can be flashed onto something like genymotion?

I don't know much about genymotion. I think android-x86 kitkat build downloads libhoudini from a google drive, and deploys it on the first run (I would think it would only work with r/w system install).
The code was modified to load libhoudini when needed (there are some hooks). I would think genymotion would need to have those hooks in place (or some similar mechanism) in order to use the binary files.
I would think this is a question more suited for Genymotion forum.

Thanks Edgardo for the reply!

Yea I have tried genymotion forum but seems to lack anyone really chatting there. So I saw this forum and thought I would ask the experts here.

Basically the problem is libhoudini is out of date in genymotion. So just reading the threads here I might find someone who can update it?! Worth a shot, any input would be greatly appreciated!
