I would like to add the v4l2loopback module (https://github.com/umlaeute/v4l2loopback) to my Android-x86 4.4-r2 VM so that I have a video input. However, I don't have things like make or gcc on the VM so I can't compile it directly on the VM. I thought I might be able to get them on there by using the Terminal IDE app, but that errors (https://code.google.com/p/terminal-ide/issues/detail?id=15).

To begin with I could do with some advice on what sort of approach I should be taking.

Is there a mechanism for adding the v4l2loopback code into the source tree then re-compiling the whole Android-x86 system?

Failing that, how could I get make and gcc onto Android?

Thanks,
Dan

Looks like an interesting module.

There is a way to build external module into the android-x86 image.
Search the forum for it.

No need.

If you never build the android(-x86) source,
read the GetSource page first.
