Hard drive light on continuously after unlock

Hi,

Installed 4.3-devel (2013/07/25) on my Samsung NB505.  Everything working great, most apps install and run well (4.0.3 ran only a few apps).  My problem:

The hard drive light stays continuously lit after unlocking.  The drive light is off on the initial lock screen.

I've maxed out the RAM and replaced the HD with a OCX SSD, partition with ext4 and 2G of swap.

Incidentally, Minecraft, which ran well under 4.0.3 is quite laggy, which I attribute to IO blocking issues (pure speculation).

Is there a way to find out what is using the HD?
