Hi.

I own a Vaio Duo and I'm trying to make Android-x86 to work as best as possible on it.
Some of Internal Components of the Device which I have problem with:

Device Type                                            Vendor (Vendor ID)    Device (Device ID)
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
WiFi                                                         Intel (8086)                  Centrino Advanced N 6235 (088E)
Bluetooth                                                 Intel (8087)                  Centrino Advanced N 6235 (07DA)
Sensors (Accelerometer, Gyro, Compass,   Freescale (15A2)         USB Sensor Platform (0065)
              Incinometer, Orientation)
Webcam                                                   ??? (0489)                  USB Web Camera (D611)
NFC                                                           ??? (054c)                  PaSoRi 100 USB (06C2)
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Now the problems:
  • Wireless: If I install android-x86 4.4 as system read/write mode, my wireless will scan AP's but cant connect to any. (both WEP & WPA) (Same as Android-x86 4.3)
  • Bluetooth: Doesn't work reliably. (Same as android-x86 4.3)
  • Sensors: No sensors. This one can really change everything. Thinking of Accelerometer (for auto rotate) and Compass on Android-x86 would be so nice. I read in changelog that version 4.4 added sensor support, but no luck with me. (Same as android-x86 4.3)
  • WebCams: No webcam support (Same as android-x86 4.3)
  • NFC: No NFC support (Same as android-x86 4.3)
Now the funny thing is that my Wireless, Bluetooth, Sensors and Webcam are working on Android-4.2.2_r1-ia3. I havn't tried NFC on it, so I don't know about that.
Any help for solving any of these problems are highly appreciated.

Also Thanks for developing android x86. Its great having android on touch enabled PC.

Thank you for the report.

As you should have known, 4.4-RC1 is a release
for android version update, not for your hardware devices.
Most HALs (hardware abstraction layers) are unchanged.
You can't expect it works for you automatically.

For the sensors, I'm integrating the intel sensor hub support
from android-ia (for my Asus T300LA).
It will probably work for you.
(You may send me your output of cat /sys/class/dmi/id/uevent)

For the other parts, they need someone (probably you)
who own the device to test, debug and make fixes,
then submit patches to me.
Otherwise they are unlikely to be supported
in future releases.

Ok. You can count on me (as much as I'm capable ofcourse. I'm not a programmer nor a developer, But I'm familiar with linux.)

On what? Android-x86? Android-IA? My other linux distro's?

Sure. I want to, but I don't know the steps. Give me some instructions on that and I will.
