I have tried every version post and so far no luck. Strangely i was
able to run Android on the Slate inside VMPlayer, not a great solution
and the touch calibration is way off....

I just got a flavor of it sort of working but by no means without
issues.

I used EASEUS Partition Master to create a 16GB partition at the
beginning of the drive, Primary, EXT3.

I then downloaded the latest build for the Viewpad10 from android-
x86.org. I made sure to download the .img file and use win32diskimager
to write the file to my flash drive.

Boot off the flash drive and install to the new partition, including
the Grub, and any other recommended settings during install. Now comes
the weird stuff...

When the slate reboots you will get the OS Selection Menu. You have to
highlight the top option and type 'a' on the keyboard to edit the
kernel settings. Add 'vga=8' to the end of the line and hit enter. It
will boot right into Android 2.2

You have to use a mouse and keyboard as no touchscreen support works.
No Wifi either. So far its not bad but there is obviously tons of room
for improvement. I am hoping we can get someone who understands Linux
more than I and help us port over the Wifi drivers and the N-Trig
drivers.

I hope that when the HTC Flyer comes out we might get some builds with
N-Trig support as that touchscreen is made my them. I also want to
look further into the TegaTech v2 as that might hold some hope for us
as well.

I'm pulling down the latest gingerbread tree to build from source.
I'm hoping to incorporate the n-trig drivers in the kernel and see
how it goes.
ubuntu 11.04 works fine on the Slate as it comes with n-trig drivers.
