Screen rotation from a command line ?

Hi all,

Is there a command to cause a screen rotation from a console ?

I saw a command than should work within an emulator, but sounds like
it does not work with a real display :

# service call window 18 i32 1 -> to switch to landscape mode

and

# service call window 18 i32 0 -> to switch to portrait mode

When I tried one of these commands, I got this error message :

Result: 'Parcel(00000000 '....')

When these commands are issued within VirtualBox with Ubuntu, I get
the same result ?!?!?! ^^

Do you want to rotate "tty" or "X"?

I guess both, as even if the display output is rotated, the touch input isn't, and so it won't really work as expected.

Yes, both as I know this is possible with Linux with "simple" xrand
and xinput set-prop commands, as I'd like to do this as a test with a
key with the setkeycodes utility until I know how to program this as a
java command... ^^

If it's not possible I guess I'll have to spend some time to study the
Snake app and the Cyanogenmod source code, but that might times to
understand all the ins and outs... :(

any idea how to rotate entire screen and locked now? Gsensor hasnt been working yet on my asus eee slate [ep121] so i'd like to lock the orientation manually like cynogemod
