Last I checked you had to Flash the .ZIP file as it's not included in the Installer yet...

If you can figure out how to Flash on the X86, Which I've heard people have, It should...

These ZIPs are intended for flashing in recovery mode. We don't have that on Android x86.
(recovery function on Android x86 is doable, eg. via additional GRUB option, but this would take some effort).

You have to manually copy files from ZIP archive to system partition.
The hard part is the install scripts, as there's no way to execute them directly.

If install scripts just copy the files, it's easy. But ZIPs containing complex install scripts (eg. Open GApps) are not easy to install.

Yeah. Thats what. I could simply copy the files from the zip file, but it also requires scripts to be run through the recovery. Any solution to installing xposed?

So on 4.4, you could install Xposed by installing the framework, entering the terminal command

echo 0x98 > /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/jit_reset_offset

and then reinstalling the framework.

With Lollipop, the actual framework itself is offered in .zip format. Has anyone given it a shot by manually dropping the files in and then running that command? I have a feeling it wouldn't boot and even let you get far enough, but I'm still curious if anyone's tried.

That won't work. Because the updater script and binary do some things which can't be done with the system running. only placing the files won't work

As long as the system.img is rooted; you should be able to install xposed by downloading a second system.img; loop mounting it in the first then manually installing it; it's essentially just adding/replacing files, setting permissions and symlinks. Then unmounting and using the xposed added system.img instead.

I've tried what You said, but probably i'm doing something wrong.
I've downloaded that program, and used it to deodex PhoenixOS system.img, with I've extracted it using FTK Imager, so I won't lose symlinks.
Next I've mount system.img on ArchLinux, and replace app, priv-app, and framework ,and paste dex/odex folders (not sure I should do that).
I've changed chmod for files to 644, and folders to 755, than I've unmounted image.
I've replaced the original system.img with new one, and installed it on my netbook (AO722).
After reboot, I've got bootloop.
What am I doing wrong?

i have to tell you,xposed-v79-sdk23-x86.zip,can work well on deodex 6.0.1,but,xposed-v79-sdk22-x86.zip,can't work on deodex 5.1.1, PhoenixOS,base on 5.1.1
