The support on this group looks quite good so wondering if you could help me with a couple of issues. I'm new to Android x86 but quite clued up on standard Android versions used on phones so not sure of the differences between ARM and x86 versions. I've previously used an older build on an Eee 701 which worked fine (but was incredibly sluggish) so this time I'm hoping for somthing more usable.

I've installed 4.4 RC1 on a Fit-PC2 (top one on this list) and it's performing reasonably well, speed is fine with only minor lag on some screens, perfectly usable. System partition is read/write.

I intend to use it as a car PC with a touch screen, USB GPS and hopefully a USB webcam or video capture card. I haven't got it installed in the car yet so I may notice more issues as I go.

So far I've got it up and running but I can't get the gallery to launch, it force closes immediately on launch. Could someone point me to where the log files are kept so I can investigate the cause? I've run 'logcat' in terminal emulator but it doesn't appear to show anything related to the gallery and I'm not sure where other logs are stored.

Also, attempting to change the wallpaper causes the launcher to force close, both with the built-in Trebuchet launcher as well as my (preferred) Apex launcher. The only way I can find to set a wallpaper is from the browser which can also be hit and miss, which leads me to the next issue.

I have downloaded Google Chrome, this also force closes upon launch. The window does briefly show in the background with the Google homepage but immediately force closes before being able to do anything on it.

Google Maps does not seem to load the maps at all. The app loads fine and you can search for places but the map itself does not load and just shows a black screen. I would like to download maps for offline use using the built in options but I cannot get it to show any areas for me to download them.

If anyone could offer any advice on the above issues I'd be most greatful.
