I decided to try to run A-x86 4.4-r1 in VMWare. I do not have any video at all nor do I have any audio. In my native HD install I can chalk this up to missing drivers but I thought all should work in the VM but it seems worse because now I don't have either. I was hoping to be able to get head phones and mic working with sound and video in the VM.

Can anyone help ? Thanks !

add boot option
" -xforcevesa UVESA_MODE=1920x1080 HWACCEL=0"
Should solve the video, as for the sound... I havent a clue.

I installed this Android-x86 4.4r1  on my
VMWare Workstation 10.0.2 with a guest operating system as Linux and Disk Image size  8Gbyte.
I format the 8GB disk into Ext3 format using the Android X86 4.4r1 LiveCD built-in installation program.
Using the Network Bridge Mode.
I leave other setting as VMWare Workstation's default.
Installation is successful.

After that , I remove the Android X86 4.4r1 LiveCD and reboot the Virtual Machine , it will boot-up in 800x600 mode (by default).
Every things works fine.
Gmail working,
Any 3D game ( space 3D racing , 3D car racing cannot be installed.
Angry Birds 2014 can be installed and running OK.
YouTube is OK,
Internet Browsing is OK.

Google Text-To-Speech is NOT working . Failed to switch from mini TTS (default) to this setting .
So , Google PlayBooks is working but cannot READ ALOUD !

Note : I have tried  using the "e" option (pressing the E key from the Boot option window ), change vga=ask

hi Ricky

How you installed the Android x86 4.4r1 in your machine. Did it needed you to install other OS before installing android or you just inserted the LiveCD and installed it.

Because I tried a lot installing 4.4r1 (unknown to these version till installing using 4.4r3 image) using LiveCD but it was showing no network found after loading. So I downloaded the image (.iso) file of 4.4r3 and installed it using that LiveCD. But after installation, when I rebooted it, it diplayed an error message "Error 17". I have attached the snapshot of the message.

Thank You
