On Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 (Intel SST audio).
Will work through what was suggested here - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/android-x86/dell$20venue$207140/android-x86/AnnJam-MqsM/NSdR0q-4FgAJ, maybe I'll find how to fix this.

In my case the solution was to enable SPO control via alsa_amixer. Sound now works okay. Please read the link I have provided previously and try the solution, maybe it will help you too.

Specifically the command that enabled speaker sound on my device was "alsa_amixer -c 1 set SPO unmute" executed as root.

Could you please provide a patch to init.sh?
Thanks!

Here you go, attached.

This patch enables speaker out on my Broadwell-Y-based tablet but there are still issues with sound:
- headphones do not work (I remember this could be fixed via additional alsa_amixer commands BUT there is no auto switch between headset and speaker)
- if touch sound is enabled (default) then touch frequently creates unpleasant loud cracking instead of normal sound
- volume rocker works BUT a single press causes volume to change 2 times

Audio device name is "broadwellrt286".
