Hi!

I am currently running Android-x86 4.0 rc2.0 DIRECTLY on my Samsung N150 netbook (single core Intel Atom, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hdd). The system seems to work ok, but, I am not sure that the display is operating at full resolution (1024x600) under  Android x86 4.0 rc2.

My Questions are:
1. Is there a way for me to find out what is the current display resolution on my system?

Run DevTools.

2. Is there a way for me to define a display resolution for my system?

Add " video=1024x600" to the kernel cmdline in GRUB.

(Please note: I have already report bug #940 about this on the project's web site at code.google.com.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

( android-x86-4.0-RC2-asus_laptop.iso ) but no wifi.  what are you doing differently to get it running on the n150 which is practically the same netbook?  thanks!

Hi +cryptozoologist,

I tried the asus image, but that didn't work on my N150. So, I downloaded the TegaV2 image. That works perfectly but for 2 issues:
  1. Screen resolution (discussed in this thread)
  2. Time+Date are COMPLETELY and POSITIVELY screwed up in this release
Other than that, my long-un-used netbook has a new life. I use it more than my Android tablet. :D

Actually, I had checked the devTools. The configuration section in DevTools says widthPixels=1024 and heightPixels=550.

I tried adding the "video=..." at the end of the kernel cmd line in GRUB. Didn't make a difference! :(

I just checked the output on my eeePC: height is 552. I'm quite sure it subtracts the height of the bottom bar.

I also tried "AndroSensor" and "Android System Info" from the play store: same result.

I've successfully used 1920x1080 on my TV that way.

Ralf! You are awesome!

Thanks for pointing me to "Android System Info". Now I am sure my screen is in 1024x600 (minus the bottom bar) resolution. :)

You are the best.

I have posted one more issue here: date+time are completely off ... any hints on that issue would also be helpful.

Thanks a lot for your help Ralf.
