Android-x86 8.1-rc1 & rc2 32 bit, mouse button mapping!

HP G61-429SA laptop with legacy BIOS

I’ll start by saying that I like the Oreo releases, the display seems to have better definition and sharpness. I have installed and tested all of the Marshmallow and Nougat releases and the 8.1-rc2 release is the first one where I wasn’t blighted with the ‘Google Play Services has stopped’ error. I was able to sign in to Google, download a few apk’s and stream the whole Liverpool match without once receiving any error notifications :)

My problem is that if I want to copy text from a webpage using my wireless USB mouse, a long left  click on the text does nothing. A double left click selects the text but no copy menu appears. With the previous releases before Oreo, a long left click would select the text and the copy menu would appear. I used to paste with a long left click or in some situations a right click would bring up the paste menu but in Oreo the right click acts as a back button in all situations.
I tried 2 wireless mice and a wired one all with the same results.
If I use the laptop touchpad everything works as normal, i.e. as I described above for the previous additions.
I tested the mouse on all of the browsers I know that work well with android-x86, including Chrome, but they all gave the same results. The strange thing is that I then decided to try Mozilla Firefox, a browser which I have previously found to be unstable in android-x86 and lo and behold a long left click on webpage text selected the text and the copy menu appeared. The right click still acted as a back button.

Yes, I could just use Firefox but I have other mouse problems.
If I want to uninstall an app in settings and the dialogue appears asking if I’m sure, I have to very carefully adjust the mouse pointer in order to highlight the ‘YES’ and hold it perfectly still while I left click. Otherwise I lose the highlight and have to repeat the sequence. I have this problem anywhere I need to highlight text by moving the pointer on to it.
One video player apk I use asks me if I'm sure if I try to exit but it will not close when I click on ‘YES’. When I use the same mouse and apk on Nougat there is no such problem.

The only other mouse problem in Oreo is if I try to scroll down a webpage I get so far down but the next click takes me back up and this is a repeating pattern. I have to left click, hold and then move the mouse up or down to move the page.

I would like to make a small donation to the project so is there a way I can donate $5 as I’m a hard-up OAP :) Thank you for all of your good work……..it is appreciated!!

Thank you for the support!

Yes, mapping mouse right button to the Back button
is a change of android-x86 8.1.
Some people think it's convenient.
Sorry for your troubles.
I'm thinking a better solution...

I think that some users will want Back on right click and some others the former implementation.

Probably this snipped of code with a new selector in Android-x86 specific Settings could make all users happy,
but I don't know how complex it is the selector to implement.

It would be interesting to know if the community some people are skilled to contribute part of the code changes,
in a collaborative way.

Another angle - All mouse models nowadays have the central button, activated by pressing on the scroll wheel,
is it currenly used with some specific function in Android-x86?
