Hi. I'm new to this group. I'm interested in getting Android running
on a Fujitsu Lifebook B Series. This model has a touch screen but no
optical or floppy drive and no option to boot via USB, and it has been
upgraded to 256MB RAM. It is currently running Ubuntu 8.10, which was
installed via PXEboot and all the hardware is working, including the
touch screen and audio. The only issue I have right now is that the
touch screen is not calibrated, however I have found open source
drivers and documentation to calibrated it. My end goal is for my
daughter, age 9, to have a device running Android so she can have some
of the same apps and utilities that my wife and I have on our Droid
Eris.

My main question it, it this worth attempting? I imagine I can install
this the same way I installed Ubuntu over the network from the Live/
Install CD. Any ideas, suggestions, input, criticism, and tips are all
warmly welcome! Thanks!

Just try it, why not?

You may put kernel and ramdisk.img pxeboot
and system.img on usb disk.
You may need to modify init.rc to do that.

Or, you may try to run entire android-x86
via nfs. This was the way I did test before.
