I have a 64 bit PC with Intel Core i3. It works pretty well, except for CPU threading. It doesn't recognize the number of cores at all. I'm not sure if this is a universal problem. Also, the CPU makes a weird hissing noise and heats up too quickly.

Can you install it in VMWare and boot it up via command line? Copy the content you get, it take a screen shot and post it here.

BTW, which build have you installed?

Has anyone managed to get this to work on a 64bit system?

My PC is a dual core 64bit amd but it will not boot the live part of Ax86 up at all just hangs.. Even tried using a VM but always just hangs at android boot logo.

So if you have managed to get it running please please advise as to what you are doing so I could give it a go..

Hi,

I am no expert, but work for a few weeks on building android-x86.
Some ideas:
- the problem is not the 64 bit hardware. on mine (Core 2 Duo T7200) most 4.0 isos run fine.
- which iso did you try? different isos might use different linux kernel configs, there may be some cpu drivers missing (Hyperthreading for example)
- which CPU do you have? eg. the kernel offers a special intel idle thread.
- check your APM / ACPI config in BIOS. which brand is your motherboard?

I had going fine on my AMD FX8120 with 16GB -

It's still running all 32bit code but it's not windows so you can still use all your memory, you'll have to compile your own kernel though because i don't think any android-x86 kenrels ship with PAE turned on,
