For info, and maybe useful for other baytrail tablet users, I could finally get wifi to work on my voyo a1 mini baytrail tablet. There is a realtek 8723BS sdio wifi&bt chip inside. The wifi works fine with the driver found here:

With the current version I finally could wifi to work. Unfortunately BT does still not work. I am using kernel 3.18.2 with android-x86 kitkat.

I'm sorry my English isn't very good.(p.s. I think there are other people that need it too.)

Here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwLKAtSVab_qYmtpZ19kMUJ1aGs/view?usp=sharing
Format a usb pen drive, copy the content of the rar to it and boot your tablet from it (make sure to set secure boot off)
What kind of tablet is that?

Thanks for your release.
Your image can boot in my Tablet, while power management doesn't work: no battery information and no charger found...
Could you help to share your kernel config and path set base on android-x86 official kernel?

I just test your release on my tablet, and wifi works fine. thank you.

I found the Bluetooth driver for RTL8723AE and RTL8723AU, maybe it can make SDIO RTL8723BS Combo card runs ...

There are different 8723 cards. Very little chance the AE and AU drivers work for BS, but feel free to try it out.

8723AE and 8723AU are usb dongles. This driver won't work for 8723BS.

Hello.
Thank you very much for your work.
This is the only android x86, which employs video acceleration, sound and wifi on my Onda V975w.
Compile, please touchscreen driver and, if possible, the driver of the accelerometer.

Interesting that sound works on your Onda, it doesn't on my Voyo A1 mini and Thinkpad Tablet 8. In the next few days I will sync the repo and add those drivers (if not in the repo already) and put the image on google drive.

On my PIPO W3 tablet this build runs wifi, touch, sound, but not orientation sensor. Also can you add GAPPS to your next build? Thanx in advance

That chip is also used on the fine Microcenter BayTrail tablets, TW100,700,800,801
Note they have a 32-bit EFI bios.

You can try this image: android-x86-kitkat-gapps-rtl8723bs-kernel_3.18.8-mesa10.4.2.rar and download it here:

Please report what works and what not. Here's a short checklist: graphics, hdmi, adjust brightness, internal emmc,sd card reader, volume/power buttons, sound, power off/reboot, suspend, battery, wifi, bluetooth, rear camera, front camera, accelerometer (for auto screen orientation), touchscreen.

Here is my report for the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 8:
graphics: yes
hdmi: not yet tested
brightness: yes
internal emmc: mounted, but not yet tested
sd card reader: not yet tested
volume/power buttons: yes
sound: no
power off/reboot: yes
suspend: not really tested, but screen switches off
battery: no
wifi: no (must wait for broadcom to release brcmfmac43241b5-sdio b5 firmware)
bluetooth: no
rear cam: no
front cam: no
accelerometer: no
touchscreen: yes

I have got some ideas to get a few peripherals to work on baytrail tablets. Stay tuned for updates.

You should create a separate topic for this.

I've tested my T100TA with your image:

Graphics: yes, and is very responsive

HDMI: untested, don't have the adapter cable

Brightness: no (there was a patch for this)

Internal eMMC: detected fine, didn't test mounting

SD: detected fine, didn't test

Volume/Power buttons: Power button works, Volume buttons don't

Sound: yes

Suspend: no, the screen just turns black, but does not turn off (screen turn off works in my old Android x86 build, perhaps a kernel config change is needed)

Battery: yes (didn't try charging, but the indicator is shown)

Wifi: yes

Bluetooth: no (there's a way to get it to work, at least in Ubuntu, but I didn't try it)

Camera: no (needs driver)

Accelerometer: no (and I don't understand why, as it's detected by the system, /sys/bus/iio/devices)

Touchscreen: yes

Thank you Povilas. So much more is working on your T100TA as compared to my Lenovo.

Yes, I will create a new topic "Getting Android-x86 to work on Baytrail platform". We will get there.

The new build will be?
Do not forget to enable Ondemand. The performance is not suitable for tablets, as the battery runs out quickly.

If the compilation of the new image does not move, then lay out, please kernel source code and config file for free access.

There's a version of that Onda that has the rtl 8723bs that runs 4.4.2 with BT working.
Trying to track down online source has been futile.

Perhaps as an Onda owner customer service would help you?

Just wanted to share my findings when running your provided image with Kernel 3.18.2.

Running your build on a Teclast X98 Air 3G (Intel 3736F), Dual Boot
Build version (on back): C9J8

The Wifi speed on this device on Android is pretty bad: On the same network I'm getting 5 times (!) the speed with a Nexus 5 (that is, 5 MBit on Nexus 5, 0.5-0.9 MBit on the Teclast).

The Wifi speed also is bad on the ROMs Teclast provided so far. Booting up into Windows is a totally different world: Here the Wifi speed is very good, no problems at all so far. So it seems to be a Android-only issue here.

Your build:

graphics: yes
hdmi: not tested
brightness: yes
internal emmc: yes
sd card reader: yes
volume/power buttons: yes
sound: not tested
power off/reboot: yes
suspend: not, screen don't turn off
battery: no
wifi: yes

bluetooth: no
rear cam: no
front cam: no
accelerometer: no
touchscreen: no

Hi,
Same results for me on Switch 10 SW5-12.
What needs to be done to help you guys build support for the not-working pieces?
I'll do the obvious one(Donate) tonight. But other than that, is there anything we non-technical users can do to get this working?

I defenetly know that it was working on my side, but I'm not able to reproduce ist because the Kernel sources has changed in the meanwhile.
As soon as I get it working again, I will inform you (and keep the source code freezed on my Github account :-) )

it is based on the work of meiijja but the current sources auto reboots my Tablets.

Its working again

I need to clean up a little bit from the mainstream kernel commits. one of the commits between December and January breaks my kernels.

feel free to fork my copy of meijaa's hard kernel development

Use my ts-android branch it is my development branch for a Trekstor Suftab Wintron 7.0 that has a RTL8723BS WiFi adapter integrated

The commit on top of the original kernel commits is a combination (squash) of all meijjaa commits until the Wifi implementation nothing new.

OK, maybe it is to complicated for the moment.

May I ask for those who had problems with WiFi to share som information about there android-x86 image they use?

Please open a terminal and type:
uname -r
to get the current kernel version

than pleas check if the module is already loaded
lsmod

search for the module called r8728bs
if it is listed than the module is already loaded, if not I will try to make the model for you kernel version and upload it.
The only necessary information therefore would be the used kernel version

BTW:
RTL8723BS is a WiFi/Bluetooth module, did someone get the bluetooth working?
mine can't be activated in android so if I find some time I need to search what causes the issue (need to check also on ubuntu if BT is working there)

OK, checked Ubuntu.

no Bluetooth device found, Wifi is working.
so maybe the complete kernel module do not cover bluetooth functionality at the moment. :-(
