Hey everyone,

I wanted to ask, if someone had success with a Trekstor Surftab Duo W1.

It has a Intel® Atom™ x5-Z8300 CPU which seems to work, because I can install Ax86 on the tablet, but the touchscreen's x-axis is inverted and wifi doesn't work (Can't enable it and therefore no hotspots are showing up).

I think it's an RTL8723BS wifichip, which I also heard works with Ax86.

Did someone have success and a working image for this tablet?

Best regards

Hi Janik,

I'm facing very similar issues. I've tried to run 7.1 from USB device and unfortunately WiFi does not work. I'm also wondering that 8723BS chip seems to work (at least I've recognized another tablet seems to work with version 4.4). What is really weird is that I see a huge number of user of Trekstor Duo W1 which are looking already long time for another OS because Win10 is finally not really usable. But it seems nobody is able to provide a solution.

So my hope is that you've already achieved to install Ax86 and can tell me how it works....

Best regards

Jürgen

The touchscreen needs to be calibrated.
But the calibration function is not integrated
into the newer releases (6.0, 7.1)
You can search some old posts in the forum
about how to to the calibration.

It should work.
But I have seen a device that
the kernel just can't detect this SDIO device.
The final solution is I adjusted some BIOS settings
to make it work. I forgot what it is.
Maybe something like OS type or so.

Hi everyone,

I've just tried it again. First I was not able to find any config item in setup. After switching "Show all item" in "Save &  Exit" tab some additional configuration is possible.

In tab "Advanced" item "Android" is available and option "Silent Lake" can be enabled. Unfortunately tablet does then not start from USB device anymore.

There are some other config items and one of these is "Modem Selection". There are 5 entries but no ideat what is the meaning of these so I've not changed this.

As well config item "System Component" is available which shows a sub-menu with many items. One of these is "OS Image ID" which is set to "Windows 8.1" and could be changed to "Android". Doing this, tablet is booting from SSD in repair mode.

In a nutshell: I was still not successful. There are some other candidates in "System Component" which sounds a bit related to WIFI (e. g. "CHT-HR setup" or "Flashless Modem"). But I've not tested this yet.

Best regards

Jürgen
