Hi folks
Was waiting patiently trying to read up on how people add drivers and seem like a lot to comprehend in one go. However, I would be grateful if someone can point to me in a bit more specific direction.
I have a USB driver C file that the manufacturer provided, which on compiling with the kernel headers of android x86 should give me a ko file that I need to add somewhere in android X86 kernel
So my question is
1. How do I compile that USB driver C file against android X86 kernel? I am sure the ARCH=ARM and toolchain for arm is not needed.
2. What do I do with the ko file once compiled? I saw the customize kernel page of androidx86 documentation but that doesn't list something about adding a new driver
3. I want to permanently add the driver because I will boot off a Live USB and don't have the ability to insmod ko module everytime I boot.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Would be happy with any kind of insight on this topic.
Thanks
