Hello,

just a quick question, is the Radeon R7 250X Card with Android 4.4 x86 r3 or 5.1 rc1 out of the Box supported, works 3D OpenGL for Games?.

Hi Christian,

5.1rc1 has radeonsi driver, thanks to pstglia and Chih-Wei efforts

It works with native gapps and with several OpenGL ES apps/games,
but there are OpenGL ES apps that cause the restart of the GUI.

There is also a minor bug, the green leaves wallpaper appears as black, but OpenGL wallpapers are ok.

The restarts happen systematically when launching specific apps and not randomly,

so on HD7750, HD7950 I can browse, watch videos and play Jelly Defense for hours without a glitch.

Mauro

PS: sooner or later, those bugs will be addressed

I've now bought the R7 240, and only works with 5.1.1 but more bad than good.

Hi,

the situation improved a lot with latest marshmallow-x86 6.0.1r10 and thanks to Wu Zhen patch to drm_gralloc

x86 test build: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_OFHiIqgpSFOU40V3hJNlV1bzQ/view?usp=sharing
x86_64 test build:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_OFHiIqgpSFTHBqd2xPLVUzY2c/view?usp=sharing

Test build report: marshmallow_x86_64 6.0.1r10  kernel 4.4, mesa branch 11.2.0devel_marshmallow_x86_09-jan-2016

Boot                            OK
Gallery 2                       OK !!! Wu Zhen is magic !!!
Wallpaper                       !Black screen instead of green leaves wallpaper! *bug* seen also on nouveau and r600
OpenGL 1.0 Demos                OK
OpenGL 2.0 Demos (harism)       OK
Basemark ES2 Taiji              Missing launch menu screen, but test OK (launched blindly) -> this is radeonsi specific
HD Benchmark ES 2.0             OK
Antutu 3D                       Missing Test Launch button *bug* -> this is radeonsi specific (OpenGL ES 2.0 test is OK BTW)
Jelly Defense                   OK
Maps                            Freezing, but that happens independently from Arch and GPU

NOTE: building x86_64 radeonsi with CFLAG -Wno-error=implicit-function-declaration "hack-around" works even if not much orthodox

What cpu bug, do you have logcat and dmesg?

If you are using x86_64 it requires SSE4 capable cpu

Hi Christian,

I have noticed a strange problem with x86_64 builds even on SSE4_1 and SSE4_2 capable CPUs
USB booting or installing with EXT4 partition is ok,

but if I use grub scripts that worked with lollipop I can't get marshmallow 64bit to boot.

Could you check if you are facing the same problem?

I have a new 64bit test build here with kernel 4.5rc1, mesa 11.2.0devel here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_OFHiIqgpSFZnh5ZzluTjJPWjA/view?usp=sharing

an updated 64bit kernel4.4, mesa
11.2.0devel here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_OFHiIqgpSFTHBqd2xPLVUzY2c/view?usp=sharing

and 64bit kernel 4.0.9 + mesa 11.1.1 here:

Hi Adrian,

current updated repo with mesa 11.2.2 should be working ok, last time I tested the results were the following (pretty much usable with HD7750/HD7950)

Boot                            OK
Gallery 2                       OK
Wallpaper                       OK
OpenGL 1.0 Demos                OK
OpenGL 2.0 Demos (harism)       OK
Basemark ES2 Taiji              Missing launch menu, but test OK (launched blindly) -> this is radeonsi specific
HD Benchmark ES 2.0             OK
Antutu 3D                       Missing Test Launch button *bug* -> this is radeonsi specific
Jelly Defense                   OK
Maps                            Freezing, but this happens independently from GPU still under investigation

With mesa 11.3.0devel things are becoming very nasty, SIGSEGV MAPERR errors causing an infinite loop and preventing the bootanimation from being visible and the GUI to complete boot.

I have substantial evidence that this problem appeared between April, 18th and April, 22th (because my branch dated 17-apr-2016 is not affected,
so if you want to try mesa 11.3.0devel I recommend to use the following, but I've not seen improvements nor regressions compared to 11.2.x)

In the first attachment log/traces collected on HD7750 about SEGV MAPERR

I'm still trying to figure out what is the first bad commit/root cause, by performing tests with reverts of specific commits that I see could cause problems in all Radeon&Radeonsi&Nouveau and git rebase + build + test, to isolate the bad commit.

The strange thing is that if I test nouveau with Nvidia GT210 I get a very much alike problem, visible in second attachment
this should be a clue to a common problem impacting different drivers.

Mauro
