Hi,

I have some questions regarding to build android-x86 from scratch.

I followed the instruction and build the android system on my debian machine, I have an ISO file as well as the out/target/product/laptop directory.

My question is, do I have to install from the iso every time? Or can I copy the system folder and some other folders to my USB and manually update the android system?

Thanks,

Patrick

The simplest way is just dump the iso into a usb stick
by dd (in linux) or any other similar tools,
supposed you built the honeycomb-x86 or ics-x86 which
support the hybrid iso format.

If you'd like up update it manually, just copy the files
in $OUT: kernel, initrd.img, ramdisk.img, install.img, system.{img,sfs}.

Maybe the following article [1] helps, if someone intend to install a working version (not a live system) on a usb pen drive.
