tested with android-x86_64-marshmallow-2016-06-10.iso (self compiled)

Dell Venue 3485
Intel Atom Z3735G

Bios: A01

what works:
wlan
internal flash
external card reader
touchscreen
rotation sensor
usb installer with efi

Problems:
1) system_server is running on 100% CPU
have to start Android with efi selection via F12 => stretched grub2 menu
standard grub2 (non-streched menu) gives a black screen, except with nomodeset Parameter, but then i have no gpu acceleration?
onboard sound doesn't work, it regognizes some audio card and loads a kernel module, but no sound
rotation is interchanged
power button doesn't give a menu for reboot/halt, it shutdowns instantly after pressing it for 10 seconds
power button doesn't shutoff screen
auto screen shutoff after 10min, it doesn't shut off complete, there is some backlight
can't change screen brightness
volume keys, tested with usb audio device
battery status, it is always at 100%

not tested:
bluetooth

dmesg/kernel log: http://pastebin.com/Z42NrPdC

I hope someone can help me with these Problems.

thanks

Weird. I have DV8P and mostly all works... Update the BIOS to A03(newer version have problems with graphics).
Bluetooth - of course... not working at all. Like in all 'VENUE' models.
Shutdown button also not working, but I've saw that working on marshmallow (only CM13, strange) and lolipop, kitkat.

Battery percentage? I don't remember, but probably it's working fine.

Anyway.. it's same chip as in asus t100. Is way more popular than dvp8 - try search by this, you'll find more solutions.

You wrote: "have to start Android with efi selection via F12"

From USB? If yes... remove all lines(from grub.cfg) above this:

menuentry 'Android-x86 2016-06-01 Live' --class android-x86 {
search --file --no-floppy --set=root /system.sfs
linux /kernel root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=android_x86 quiet DATA=
initrd /initrd.img
}

You should leave only timeout line.

In other case - if you installed it to disk - Try to edit grub.cfg(probably EFI partition or another partition with label "Android x86") from windows using Ext2Fsd and also remove these lines above 'menuentry'. This is really odd, but necessary.

Anyway - Update the BIOS to A03 or try newer, but you have to use VESA graphics mode(nomodeset parametr and xforcevesa, maybe) and will boot without any problems.

Sorry for my bad English, but it's not my primary language, so... hope that you understand all.

hi, i tried to do a fresh install of win8.1 to updating my bios. After installing and before the first boot(creation of user), I'm stuck at the Dell Logo. I cant boot from usb stick either.
So, I can't do anything with it. Are there any Solutions to this?

You always can boot into bios by combination of hw buttons... or plug keyboard and press F12/F10 (I've no clue).

Btw. Download a bios update file from Dell site. But... firstly you should install Windows, again.

Turn the Tablet off.
Press the power button once and then hold the Volume down button for a few seconds. After dell logo.

I had the same problem but never got brick. You have to enter the bios. It's works anyway, even without any os...

Umm technically its not bricked if  you can get into the bios...

Just saying,  a brick is you turn it on and it does nothing..

Then you open it up, ground some jumpers,  force flash,  and pray a lot. Lol
