Broadcom WiFi card issue in Android 9-x86

Hi ,

   I am using braodcom wifi card bcm43142 inbuilt of my laptop . But I am not able to make it work in android OS. It works fine in my other windows and ubuntu os. Please check attached dmesg log and help me.

The prospect doesn't look good for you. Many people with the same wifi card have problems getting it to run in Linux. However, I did come across this suggestion:

If “lsmod” and b43 shows up, remove it with “modprobe -r b43”, in the mean time check if “wl” is in the list, or activate it with “modprobe wl”, I had the same issue, the thing is the mhwd installed the driver somewhere else other than “/lib/modules/4.1.9.13-14-MANJARO” hence the system wasn’t able to detect it.


The final fix was actually just buy an Atheros card or another card that is supported. Just don't get RTL8723BS, I have it and it took sometime to get it to work and BT still doesn't work right despite other devs' hard work in providing an alternative firmware.

Tried but no luck. By the way the wifi card is working for me in ubuntu linux but not in Android x86.

Not sure what to do next as I'm also new to this Android thing. I would suggest you run lsmod in Ubuntu live CD/USB and see which exact driver it is using. It may be possible to get a copy of the source and compile it as part of the custom rom.
