Hello. I got an Asus Eeepad Transformer TF101.

It is almost a netbook because it has a complete keyboard, trackpad,
usb ports, for using mouse, etc. Even any tablet now can use mouse and
keyboard.

It would be great to have a VNC client that can act just as it were a
netbook, i.e. using the mouse and keyboard, sending right click with
the mouse/trackpad, etc.

Is it planned to add this features to android-vnc-viewer??

I don´t have a Transformer. Just an cheap Tablet from China, but it has a USB-Connection, where i can connect an USB-Keyboard and an USB-Mouse.
And it works fine. But just basic stuff. No rightclick and things like that.
Did you tried it with the Transformer Keyboard?

Yes, I've got a transformer with keyboard. I will list the problems I am finding:
1) Can't zoom up to see all the screen. Check the fllowing capture. At maximum zoom, it does not show the task bar. It can be solved with scaling to fit the screen, then it is not a big deal.

2) the PC cursor does not follow the android client cursor. I.E. you can't navigate throu auto popup menus like in some web pages. (check the screen capture, you will see the system mouse pointer (white) at top-left corner and the tablet mouse pointer ina different place.

3) In fit to screen mode, it does not allow me to change input mode. The only one active is No pan, Trackball Mouse. Changing to other zoom mode I can use mouse pointer control mode that seems to work but with some problems... it seems that sometimes it does not send the buttom release, and when I moves the cursor it wtarts selecting in a web page.

Right click seems to be sending a normal left click. It is important in most applications.

4) keyboard: some keys does not work, i.e. shift . It also does not distinguis regional keyboards (I've got an spanish keyboard). Arrow keys seems to be linked to the mouse track mode. In pointer mode they work. There is a mod of connect bot adapted to use transformer's external keyboards.

Remember that now tablets has USB connectors that allows to use normal mouses and keyboards.

I was searching for a way to use my Libreoffice or my gimp in my tablet (via vnc, and other remote control solutions) but I coud'nt. Even I tried with an X Server for Android but didn't work for this use.

Hi Alejandro,
I think the problems you listed are typical for VNC-Clients on Android.
I actually tested in the last days a view Clients and most of them have the same lose of functions. Perhaps you should try Remotix or Jump Desktop. But sadly there neither free or opensource.

Yes, I think all android VNC clients are ment for using in phones. This is why there is a need for a decent VNC client that let you use a tablet as if it where a netbook.

I am a programmer but never programed for android. I could try to learn and modify your vnc but before I thought that it where better to ask you if you are planing to add this functions. If not, could you tell me what I need to do in order to download the SVN and create the project to get it compiled?

Someone has edited vnc viewer for tablets, but it didn't ever get committed. I think he just added another mouse mode. It's in this group somewhere...

I had made a patch for "Touch mouse pan and zoom" mode, intended to work together with my additional modifier keys support patch:

But I haven't heard anything from the project members since I filed those bugs a year ago, and there haven't been any new builds or source commits since Mar 2011, so I'm not sure if this project is still alive.

As I see... One of the biggest problems is it is not sending the mouse position to the server (because most phones does not has a mouse).

Can anybody tell me how must I build the tree with the sources in order to get eclipse compiling this project? (so I can try the patches)

Well... If the project is dead, a new fork could do the job.
