From what I read around on the great wide big Internets, the Nexus One
sold by Vodafone Italia is of the 850/1900/2100 mHz variety. Can
anyone confirm this?

Sorry I do not know about Vodafone but you can still buy an N1 from
Google. They are currently only selling to developers but anyone can
register as a developer and the fee is only $25.00

That Nexus One only runs on Vidéotron for the 3G, and Rogers for the old EDGE/GPRS part of the radio.

When you buy from Google you choose which version you want. I
purchased the 850/1900/2100 (known as GSM) version which I am running
as HSPA (3G+) on Bell network,

From what I can recall, one can't choose between the 850/1900 and the 900/AWS editions since google abandonned the google.com/phone sale site. From what I read on the actual brightstar selling site, they only sell the 900/AWS one for the developers.

Though for some obscure reason thery're still giving away AT&T ones for free. That one I just don't get.
