Hi,

Thanks for a great app. I have written a small program running on my Ubuntu server to control my lights at home. When sending a command I expect a 'O' in return. This works fine when running the profile from the app but I don't get any feedback when failed when running the profile through a widget. Any ideas what may be the problem?

Hello.  Could you please enable Send/Expect logging and post a log file after trying to execute the widget?

I've had non-deterministic problems with Send/Expect as a widget.  It was an area that I couldn't work out a reasonable technique for unit testing, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is an issue there.

Hi,

Here are the logs.
I'm sending "D20" or "D21" to turn the light off or on and then expect an 'O' character in return.
In the logs with sufix Error I'm expecting an 'E' character but I receives an 'O' instead as it should. When executing the Error profiles from the App I get a short hoovering notifcation that the command was not executed as expected, but I doesn't get anything when executing the widget for the same profile.
Hope this s helping.
/Daniel

Hello.

Looking at your log files the conversations between Send/Expect and the target appear to be the same in both the app case and the widget case.

In both cases when you send "D21" you are getting back "O".   If your question is about why the device is responding with "O", I don't know, it is what the device is doing.

Is your question about why there is an Send/Expect error pop up for the app case, but not the widget case?

My question is why I don't get a error message from the widget if I don't get an 'O' as expected or timeout as I get when executing from the app.
