After some time send/expect shortcuts always fails om my Nexus 6P runing Marshmellow. Any known workaround?

Shortcuts are something that I wasn't able to work out how to unit test when developing Send/Expect, so this doesn't surprise me.

Can you characterize further what "after some time" means?  Also, were you using them successfully pre-Marshmellow?

When I create a new shortcut, it works, also repeatedly. But next day, it generates an error and never goes back to work again, even with a restart of the device. Since most of my devices are Nexus, all are running Marshmellow, but I'll try to see whether I can locate an older phone and try that.

Thanks.  You don't need to bother with finding an older device.  Was just wondering if you had used shortcuts successfully on previous versions of Android, or not.

I am swamped with my real job at the moment, but when I get a chance I will try to reproduce this in the emulator.

Any news on this?

I managed to circumvent the problem by making a Tasker shortcut which uses the send/expect Tasker plugin. No trouble, works reliably

Hello Peder,

I am glad that you got it working with a Tasker shortcut.

Because I work so infrequently on SendExpect, each time I come back to it, the first hunk of time is spent updating Android Studio, and the associated development pieces.  When you first reported the problem, that was what I did, but have been unsuccessful in multiple, many hour sessions, trying to get the updated development environment to work.  When I get things working again, the shortcut issue is the top of my list.
