You can use android kitkat via berryboot: http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot
But you won't be able to use wifi or Bluetooth.

Hi Nikolai,

Do you know if using berryboot will include drivers for a touch screen? I can't find any drivers for android os via rpi 2 for a touch screen. If you have any helpful insight, please let me know.

I Think this information I found will help make this possible on Raspberry pi 3 with Android

(There are 2 eGalax touchscreen controllers with the def of 0eef:0001) I'm not sure what this means But I do know I have an eGalax touchscreen controller because I did a test with it plugged into my computer running Android X86 marshmallow Rooted, when using the terminal I typed the command dmesg within android terminal and towards the bottom I saw my touchscreen [eGalax Inc. USB TouchController] and the touch screen acts like a mouse track pad so it kind of works more or less,it seems it's rotated 90' and flipped on the horizon axis, Can someone confirm that this works the same on the Raspberry Pi 3?
See links bellow for the information I found
the type of touch screen I am using is a resistive type eGalax touchscreen

Hope this help you help others and me!

So far I have berryboot running kitkat on a 7" element14 touch screen.   No bluetooth or wifi.  I have found a version of marshmallow that will not fire up on the touch screen, and further reading now tells me that it has no touch screen support now, but on hdmi, the bluetooth and wifi and working.

Remi What Pi are you using? and your saying the HDMI works but not the touchscreen, and you found that marshmallow does not support the touch screen?
Did you make sure you had developer options enabled? and did you have ROOT access with that version of marshmallow?

Thanks Clancey Aggen

Do you know this post:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=122146&p=1017524#p1017524

Looks like jgarzagu did achieve using the official display with RPI and Android before.

 jgarzagu was so kind and updated the post in the RPi forum how to get the Raspberry Pi (Without Touch at the moment) running.

We shall try to integrate the Kernel config if it has no sideaffects to all the other Android improvements for the RPI

I have Eleduino 7inch display (HDMI) with resolution 1024x600. Touchscreen works with it. Some default USB drivers in use in packet so looks like display is seen like as mouse.I had to change settings in my SD card (android 6.0.1 image but new RTAndroid should/look to work also).

In SD card/boot directory:
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_drive=2
config_hdmi_boost=4
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=1
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt=1024 600 60 6 0 0 0
max_usb_current=1
hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 (not needed propably??)
disable_overscan=1
framebuffer_width=1024
framebuffer_height=600
kernel=zImage
device_tree=bcm2710-rpi-3-b.dtb
dtparam=audio=on
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d,cma-256

Display resolution was still incorrect (only part visible meaning rest overflown and therefore unusable) So also the following change was needed. I updated the file with adb pull /system/build.prop  then edited in PC => adb pushbuild.prop /system/build.prop. This should work also in normal editor on linux in boot and system directories using normal SD card reader. The edited string was:
debug.drm.mode.force=1024x600
Original value did not match screen resolution.

I would like to know if somebody have solution for the sound: I have developed a small board with sound features and IO for the Raspberry Pi 3 and if we could use Android we will have a nice tablet with sound for SIP video intercom applications. I am opened to partnerships and I am a long time in the building construction.

Now this may be a long shot, but will the drivers have compatibility with IR Touch Screen?

Im looking at these:

Some drivers (on a different site):

Maybe to attach the IR Touch screen on a larger monitor and have a "giant" interactive tablet? Don't want to buy one if they don't/wont work with the RPi3

Thanks and keeps up the hard work!
