Hi all,

I've just intalled android tv 7.1 from there :

http://geektillithertz.com/wordpress/index.php/2016/11/06/android-tvnougat-raspberry-pi-3/

This is a stock build with no gapps, System partition is expanded to 1024mb to support additional App.
I ´m running windows 10 on my computer. The raspberry pi3 has 16go sd card.

I tried this tutorial : https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/android-rpi/X075avZy-wM
-> i got so many crash errors, and play store launche white screen many times

I've seen this script :
https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/android-rpi/J7vRauzo4cQ
-> don't understand how to run it from adb

And on this forum : https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/android-rpi/xb2fwTQbUYw
-> on windows i could not extract open gapps files with 7zip !

Can somebody take 5 min to help me ?
I ´m a newbie so perhaps my suestions are easy for you. I ´m jus trying to setup a gift for Christmas for children so important for me.

Thanks !
Alex

Hey, that first link is from me. That post was for 6.0, that has to be why the crashes. The gapps version will be different for 7.1. if i recall correctly, i downloaded the script from geektillithertz and the gapps from opengapps.
So for 7.1 all you need to do is the following instead of step 2:

1) Download appropriate version of gapps from opengapps
2) Copy the script "gapps_script.sh" from my folder into the corresponding location for new gapps.

then continue the following steps there. I think that should work, let me know how it goes, good luck.

And the compatibility issues persist in google play. So everytimne you want to install an app, first you will have to uninstall all updates to google play, and then use it.
There is a workaround for this too. I was looking into it, but it needs the Android version to be rooted. I have no idea how to do that, if it can be done at all. So until that happens, it's okay i guess to use like that.

Yeah, I can't install gapp on my rpci 3 with android tv 7 because the script breaks at "$(adb shell getprop sys.boot_completed | tr -d '\r')"
To get that far, I have to manually start-server and connect <rpci.ip.address>, but adb fails every time.  Seems like the rpci can't stay connected to the network, and must be constantly dropping out.  I've tried on Ethernet->Ethernet, and Wifi->Wifi.

Hi D3ADWA1T,

I flashed it in the terminal and it runs but they cannot be installed. It states it is no space left.
The SD card I used is 32GB. It should not be full.

y??
