AR drivers/built-in.a - then /common/Makefile:185: __sub-make] Error 2

I am following this guide to a tee, no repo sync error etc:

I am not sure where I missed, I kept hitting this error right at this spot:

  CC      drivers/hid/hid-wiimote-debug.o

  AR      drivers/android/built-in.a

  AR      drivers/hid/built-in.a

  AR      drivers/built-in.a

make: *** [/home/mohdyusuf/android-kernel/common/Makefile:185: __sub-make] Error 2

I am building from Windows 10 but in WSL2 Ubuntu with Core i7 6 cores (12T) with 16GB RAM. The error at the Makefile isnt very descriptive.

Any help would be appreciated.
