Hello All,

The SUPL INIT message comes in the form of WAP PUSH or SMS message.
How do I differentiate the normal WAP ,essage and the SUPL INIT?

Does Android framework provide support for this? Is this already
implemented in the framework?

Can anyone explain where the messages are differentiated as SMS, MMS,
WAP and so on...

Can you be more specific on what you are doing? SUPL is in the
driver. The WAP Push has an application id that should be picked up
by the Android itself, not your app. You app shouldn't see any SUPL
message.

Currently the system is not able to identify SUPL INIT embedded in WAP
PUSH.
This is affecting the functionality of Location Based Services.

Here are my questions:
1) Who identifies the SUPL INIT embedded in WAP PUSH
2) Where dies the differentiation happen for the type of message -
SMS, MMS, SMS-CB, and WAP PUSH.

Though I am not totally sure where in the Android framework the SUPL
INIT message was received and filtered from WAP PUSHes. SUPL sessions
can work using the GPS interface only. The modem firmware can detect
SUPL INIT message, and transforms that into a GPS request to the GPS
HAL and it needs support at the GPS driver. I hope this fits in your
system.

Thanks,
Danke
