Hi, Guyes,

I am not sure on whether this question shall go to platfrom or
framework so I just made a guess.

I am seeking to read out something to the user. Does the cupcake, the
donut or something future have a set of public API to pass in some
text and read out using some sort of TTS engine? Which version has it?
And if one has, what's the support status of languages other than
English?

Thanks a lot..

Regards,
Liang

Hi,

It seems like that you are able to use this APIs in Android 2.0 Donut.

Check the video from the Google IO talking about this.

Fwiw, there is no such thing as "Android 2.0" at this point.  I don't know where in the world that has come from, but it doesn't exist.  The only thing that exists is the Donut development branch, which will be given some as-yet-undetermined version number when it is done.
