Yes, but I'm really asking about a more global search. For example,
someone recently asked about Bluetooth and the answer was found in the
framework/base project, while they were looking in other modules like
external/bluez. Once pointed to the correct project the grep feature
works well, but the problem is in discovering which of the many
projects contain the information you are seeking.
For those with the entire source tree on their local machines, this
feature could be used to search a new merge to determine, before you
repo, if a feature was added and which projects contain the pieces.
I am asking about the possibility for a grep-like feature at the
http://android.git.kernel.org/ level, like the one that exists at the
project level, that would at least point to the correct projects. It
would handle those kinds of recurring questions.
