Hi All,

Can anyone enlighten me about Bluedroid stack?

(ref: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Android_wireless_build_and_porting_guide#Bluedroid)

OR it is something different than above ref URL? Is it going to replace the BlueZ stack with the Bluedroid stack in coming JB version?

 Thanks in advance,

Ashish

Bluedroid is used to just enable/disable bluetooth hardware module and
runs the hciattach. Actual bluetooth profile and implementation of
bluetooth specification is available in Bluez stack.
In the link it is mentioned clearly that TI Bt module doesnt use
rfkill subsystem to enable/disable the bt hardware, so they have their
own bt app. AFAIK, Bluez stack only would used in all coming android
releases.

Thanks Ram,

This is my understanding too,  Bluedroid is around early 2009 in Android. Nothing new.

But few customers are freaking out if Bluedroid will replace BlueZ. I was just wondering to know bit more from Android team (espl. from JBQ).

Let see what JBQ has to say as well.

Thanks,

Ashish

Well..I have kind of conformation now, Bluedroid will not only be the driver but BT core stack and with BT profiles support.

Let see what JBQ has to say on this?
