Hello,

I have created a J2ME application that is making heavy usage of JSR-82
features, mainly those around SDP (Service Discovery Protocol).
Currently Android API has limited support of SDP, as for example it
doesn't provide any methods to create service attributes.

As now I am working on porting my J2ME app in Android, I would like to
ask, when Android team plans to incorporate full SDP support in
Android API.

Thanks

Hey Laserman

Not in the next release. We have other higher priority APIs to make public first - like Headset, A2DP, HID, OBEX etc.

Thanks

blame it on open source but SDP is either ways not going to stay for long in linux. Bluez prefers to deprecate it in times  to come and GATT would be the way to go.

Google guys where are you in bluez forums?? or is bluetooth a lost and forgotten case for you?

Yes agreed, but doesn't means there will be no Android devices running SDP.

We have limited SDP API. Look at the javadoc for this listenUsingRfcommWithServiceRecord.
