Building on OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

I'm now successfully building on 10.6 (!) with the addition of these 3 patches:

Generally, following the official OS X setup steps at http://source.android.com/download are still correct for me, with the following changes for my setup:

Make sure you install 10.4 build support when installing the OS X Developer tools.

MacPorts: No need for gmake from macports, as 10.6 has a recent version now.

MacPorts: I installed libsdl-devel, but I'm unsure if it's needed, haven't tried the build with it removed.

If you don't have Rosetta installed (no longer a default on 10.6), you need my patch 12014 above, as the prebuilt flex in darwin-x86 is ppc only. That was the final piece for me once I pulled Kenny Root's two patches.

I'm building with a java 1.5/1.6 hack to build/core, which I will clean up and submit a patch for wrapping Tom's doclet if someone else doesn't get to it first. Alternatively, it sounds like you can install java 1.5 following the process on http://chxor.chxo.com/post/183013153/installing-java-1-5-on-snow-leopard (found via http://the-b.org/Android) but I haven't needed to with my unsanctioned kludge.

I'm going to keep my eye on gerrit to see when they're in master and then I'll run a build on my box which doesn't have SDL installed.

I got as far as bodging the doclet into the build before I was forced to ease up my work schedule a bit. Unfortunately I encountered a tricky looking problem. I'll update the relevant thread when I've got my head around it again.
