Dear all,

After the long 9 months since 2.3.1 release, but just after a few weeks since 2.4 beta, we are happy to announce the release of OpenCV v2.4.0, the latest and the greatest version of the library!
Thanks to everybody who took part in preparing the release, contributed new functionality, provided feedbacks and submitted bug reports. Congratulations to all who waited for it!

You are welcome to try it out, the binary package for Android is located at SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/files/opencv-android/2.4.0/

The Android specific changes are listed in the Android Release Notes at http://code.opencv.org/projects/opencv/wiki/Android_Release_Notes.

Please report any problems (if any) to our issue tracker at http://code.opencv.org.

For those who prefer working with sources there is also a SVN branch available at http://code.opencv.org/svn/opencv/branches/2.4/opencv,
from which you will be able to get hot fixes in future, or a tag at http://code.opencv.org/svn/opencv/tags/2.4.0/opencv for the exact 2.4.0 sources.

OpenCV Development Team.

Thank you for your work.

I have downloaded the binary package from sourceforge and I having problems to run tutotial 3 and 4 on my Samsumg Galaxy S2 with Gingerbread.

On sourceforge I saw too an updated .exe that seem to be 201.5 MB but when I download it only have 192MB.

It an autoextract that is not build. on android samples there are samples that aren´t on teh binary.

Have to build this and use instead of binary?

Could you start a separate thread on your problem with the detailed description?
