locale question

Hello.

I've noted that the locale installed on cupcake and froyo are different. In cupcake there are many more. Is there a reason for this? Can otehr locale be installed on froyo?

Hello,

It is build feature. It is possible to add custom locales to original list of locales when froyo builded. I had added only Russian to short original list. I did not seen same possibility for cupcake, where long list of locales included originally ( I an not sure that I right )

May I ask you, because I always use your builds, is it possoble that you add some locale for the next builds, if it's not a problem or take too much work...

That's because for me it would be useful to have the chinese TRADITIONAL, and because we know there's at least one Farsi aof user, I think it would be nice to have also farsi/arab support...

Anyway, I know bug fix etc have the priority on your work, therefore take it as a low priority request, I don't want you to bother you more

If localle exist in source, it is no problem.
Please, give me locale codes you would like to add. Its should be something like ru_RU or eu_US

for chinese traditional is zh_TW ;
chinese simplified zh_CN ;
farsi should be fa_IR

custom version of froyo on SD. It is same version as previous with chinese traditional ( zh_TW ) and chinese simplified (zh_CN) included.
Unfortunately, I does not found farsi (fa_IR) at source.
Chinese is not known for me, please, check and inform about.

After some weeks of testing the "custom build" I can confirm it's working well like the common build.

A question:
I've seen that you can chose a localized keyboard (depending on the locale environment installed). For example there's a russian keyboard (with cyrillic characters?). Well In the cyustom build there isn't a chinese keyboard. Is it something which requires extra package/compilation? is there anything in the source code which provides it or not?

Second: it's written that if you enable more keyboard layouts, you need to shift the finger on space bar for changing layout: for me it's not working, I've tried with italian, english, german keyboard, but the layout doesn't change... or am I missing anything? This has always happened even with previous builds.

Anyway, these are very low priority issues :-)
