It's a softkeboard for Chinese IME hanyu pinyin (the official way used in PCR). It allows to use a qwerty keyboard to write Simplified Chinese characters. I've tested tens of chinese IME soft keyboards, but at the moment it's the only one with Hanyu Pinyin working on the Freerunner.
Unfortunately it doesn't show Traditional characters, but you can use another application to convert from simplified to traditional
