Do I need the desktop application?

hi

I wonder if I need to install desktop application if I have growl
installed. If the android applicaiton sends growls I don't have to
install any additional program which I would prefer.

Could somebody comment on that?

Right now you do need the desktop application, but in a future release it'll be able to communicate directly.

Not yet. I'm working on it as my free time allows, which means it's coming out slowly.
