It was brought to my attention that Locale was not in any of the
nominees. This definitely feels like an oversight and a perfect
opportunity to flex our "subject to change" clause!

What do you guys think?

As a quick straw poll, how many people on the list use it?

It was a great idea, but there were some implementation problems as I remember.

I don't use it but have no issue with adding it.

I used early on and later... did not work as well on EDGE as I wanted.  Didn't know what others thought about it.

I have had mixed experience with Locale. However I think it should go
in.
As its innovative and potentially something that should be included in
core functionality.

What are the criteria for nominees?
Why not add all the other innovative apps?

The criteria was the first few weeks of discussion then the two days of open polling. If we left something out its because no one thought it was worth submitting.

Each poll will also include an "other" option so readers can place their vote for any app they wish.

I think it should go in... Its a great concept. Personally I haven't
used the application so I can't say anything for its execution, but I
don't think it would hurt to include it...

I got no issue including Locale.  The app is still in active development and has over 50k downloads.

Its a good app, but it was not included since most of us probably don't use it. If voters want to add it in, they can.

What about ADC2 entries? Can voters add them in the "other app" field as well? If by chance an entry gets an award that would influence the voters of ADC2... just something to think about.

Is there really enough time for an ADC2 app to pick up enough steam to
skew results? If so, should we agree on no ADC2 apps in this edition
of the contest. They'll have their own time to shine in a few
weeks...

ADC apps weren't allowed to be uploaded to the market until yesterday.
I doubt any of them are going to gain enough traction to be included
in a write-in vote.

I think we should just let people decide if they want to include
Locale or not. Every award show in history has snubbed something that
people felt should have been included, so there's no way we're going
to get everything 100% right. It would be a little unfair for us to
just add Locale in at the expense of an app that made it to the Top 5
through internal voting.
