I'm working on my master thesis in Android WiFi P2P.
In particular i'm using a Nexus 4 with Kitkat, 2 Nexus 5 with KitKat and one Nexus 5 with Lollipop 5.0.1.
I'm using directly wpa_supplicant in /system/bin and wpa_cli, compiled from AOSP with full userdebug configuration.

If i try to create a p2p group with 2 or more devices, everything is ok, but if i want to create 2 p2p groups in android i can't. I'm completely blocked at this point since December.

I mean, i'm talking to the developer of wpa_supplicant and he said me to test the capabilities to have 2 p2p group interface at the same time executing two times the command "p2p_group_add".

The result is:

> p2p_group_add
OK
<3>P2P-GROUP-STARTED p2p-p2p0-0 GO ssid="DIRECT-CO-Android_263e" freq=2412 passphrase="riyhByHi" go_dev_addr="address"
> p2p_group_add
FAIL
<5>P2P: Failed to add group interface

If i look inside logcat i can see this:

01-11 15:52:12.671: E/wpa_supplicant(6964): Failed to create interface p2p-p2p0-2: -12 (Out of memory) <-------THIS ERROR
01-11 15:52:12.671: E/wpa_supplicant(6964): P2P: Failed to create new group interface
01-11 15:52:12.671: E/wpa_supplicant(6964): P2P: Failed to add group interface

Where is the problem? Why i can't create two interfaces? But in particular, how can i fix this?

Thank you very much,

Stefano.
