Hi
I just executed the file android-ndk-r10e-windows-x86.exe which I downloaded from here. The files were extracted ... somewhere, but it wasn't to the folder stated here:-
  • On Windows:
      1. Download the appropriate package from this page.
      2. Navigate to the folder to which you downloaded the package.
      3. Double-click the downloaded file. The folder containing the NDK extracts itself.
When uncompressed, the NDK files are contained in a directory called android-ndk-<version>. You can rename the NDK directory if necessary and you can move it to any location on your computer. This documentation refers to the NDK directory as <ndk>.

You are now ready to start working with the NDK.

I did two searches - One for all file created today, and one for the specific folder 'android-ndk'. Both searches reveal no files associated with the folder or it's files. Yet I know the files are on my drive, because whereas I had 23 gigs of free space before extracting, I now only have 21 gigs of free space.

Is there a specific location, or unique file I can look for to find these files?

It should be extracted to your current working directory at the time of running the unzip.
If the current working directory is not obvious, then try starting a command shell,
cd-ing to the right directory, then doing the extraction.  Then you'll see the directory
created underneath your current working directory.

OK... I think I located where the files went. The project I was trying to build is building without the error on missing ndk files, which means the installation used my environment variables path to extract the files to the ndk root - which is cool - but it's still strange that windows search does not find those modified files though - but that's a Microsoft problem - not for this forum.
Hmmm.... This build is taking rather long though, while id.exe consumes my memory, and my hard drive space keeps reducing... What's going on here?
Thanks for your input Glenn...

I posted twice, but I don't see those posts.
Anyway, the problem is still there
Warning 1 warning : NDK installation incomplete - gnu-libstdc++ not found in the expected location (this could happen with NDK r10 and r10b or versions prior to r8d). It is recommended that you install the latest NDK updates.
...so I need to find those files. Anyone knows of a unique filename in the package, which I can search for?

Thanks. What if there is no working directory, since I ran the exe from my download manager, and I had already checked the downloads folder.
If I run that file again with a new working directory, would that not mean that I would be short 2 more gigs, with 2 other gigs of missing files? It's kind of strange that a search does not reveal any files when I  searched from the root, and if the files end up in a directory other than where it was designed to be - namely 'android-ndk', should the information on the installation here not be changed? Are there not any specific filenames I can use to do another search? If the files are there, windows search will find it.
