ARCore hello_ar_java - another app is using the camera

Hi. I am attempting to run the default, hello_ar_java app from the ARCore sample database. https://github.com/google-ar/arcore-android-sdk/releases

I have had no issues running this app on nearly app devices, emulated or physical, with an API 31 or above. All, except one phone.

This is a Samsung Galaxy A23, API 33. On starting the hello_ar_java app, it opened properly. The screen, however, remains dark. Shortly thereafter, a message saying "another app is using the camera" appears. An image is in the attachments:

At the time of running the hello_ar_java app, no other camera apps were running to my knowledge, which I checked by checking the current active apps. I also restarted the phone, to no success.

Please let me know if more information is required.
