NDK r29 RC 1 (AKA beta 4) is now available in the stable channel of the SDK manager (use ndkVersion "29.0.14033849" in your build.gradle file) and for download from our website.
NDK r29 is a regular (non-LTS) release. Unless any major regressions from r28 are reported in the next month, r29 final will release in about 30 days.
