Hi Android Montreal,
You may have heard of
Meteor.com and upcoming
http://MeteorDay.com - version 1.0 was just released two days ago, so we'll see it used even more in production environments.
As of version 0.9 Meteor JS supports Cordova - which means Android and iOS are supported out of the box. I would imagine, if you're new to Android development - or find Java tedious to learn - you can give JavaScript a try and develop reactive mobile applications directly with Meteor JS.
We're bootstrapping the local Montreal Meteor community on Meteor Day, and we'll demo all this at La Commune, Nov 6, starting 5:45pm.
Thanks!
