Ok, here is my first public release

You need an Android 6+ device with low-latency enabled to install it.

It's based on Pedro project, but I used the 44kHz wavetable and Superpowered SDK to resample to device native sample rate.

I'm looking to use external wavetable bank (.DLS file) with the SONiVOX Synthesizer, I can load a .dls file fine, but it's not used with the synthesizer (if anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate alot)

I'd love feeback.

hi Matthew, sorry to hear you device isn't supported...

It's probably the low-latency feature... (actually, only 22 devices are eligibles to install the application, mostly Nexus devices)

I might release a version where low-latency is not required, and display a warning about it... But I fear poor app rating/reviews because of this...

OK I've removed the requirements on low latency, so you should be able to install it now.

Hello Philippe,

I'm so glad you posted this. I tried it on a Nexus 6 and it works great.

This will be very helpful for Android testing. Also, developers can use this as a GM synth when developing pure composing apps without a synthesizer.

Thanks for doing this.

Hi Phil,

glad to know it will be useful for you

Do you know someone who knows how SONiVOX works, I saw that it was used with JetPlayer.
I'm looking to load a better sound font bank, but all my attempts currently failed.

Hello Philippe,

It was used as the ringtone player in early Android devices. It was important back when people used MIDI files as ringtones.

Regarding loading soundfiles, have you seen this github Issue regarding DLS?

Phil

Yes, I just replied on the issue.

I can load some .dls file without errors (not all for some reason), but it doesn't seems to have any effect on the samples used by the synthesizer.
Well, it does have an effect... breaking some percussion instruments...(no matter which .dls is loaded)

I guess I'll have to live with the embedded bank.
It would be great, if the tool used to convert a .dls in the compiled library could be found.

in the header of the file there is

/*----------------------------------------------------------------------------
 *
 * Filename: wt_200k_G.c
 * Source: wt_200k_G.dls
 * CmdLine: -w wt_200k_G.c -l wt_200k_G.log -ce -cf wt_200k_G.dls -w -l -ce -cf wt_200k_G.dls
 * Purpose: Wavetable sound libary

Anyway thanks for the help

Philippe
