AIDE and Non-Android Program

Can I use AIDe to write and compile and run non-android programs in Java. For example, a Java class with only a public static void main() method?

This is not supported at the moment but we are thinking about adding
support for editing/compiling/running of Java console applications.
Since AWT/Swing is not available on Android running AWT/Swing
graphical Java applications will still not be possible but we could
even support editing and compiling those.

I think that would be useful. My use case is as follows. I have a java library that I created and I need it for an android app that I am building. The library is not specific to the android app. I also use it on a jsp based web site. But from time to time I find the need to change the library, so it would be useful to be able to edit/compile/run the library as a console app while building the android app.

Just a clarification. My use case would not require changing the Java libraries, because I an compiling/testing/running a Java program to be used with an Android app. I just need to be able to compile and run this program and see the console output for debugging.

I think this would be a really useful feature. I bought AIDE premium for development on-the-go, but since most of my java development is non-android, I've only had limited use out of it - which is sad because the few times I've been able to make it work for me, it's been a great experience.

There's definitely a gap in the Android market for this sort of functionality, and I'd imagine that you've done most of the work already in making such a feature-complete IDE for android-only development. Agree that running the code isn't necessary; just take away the pain of writing java without continuous compilation and I'd happily pay again for the upgrade.

But my problem is not regarded to this, nevertheless, I eagerly want to get a solution.

My app (created with AIDE) crashes when extend the Activity class to 'AppComppatActivity'.
Although I added everything that is required for the AppCompat.

And the builder shows no error, but the app crashes.

How to solve this problem out ?
